WHAT IS A FRECKLE TATTOO?
Freckle tattooing is a procedure in which a Cosmetic Tattoo Artist inserts pigment into your skin on your cheeks and nose, to give you a natural, freckly look.
This semi permanent tattoo helps you look sun-kissed all year round! No more waiting for summer and exposing your skin to harmful sunlight for hours on end in order to have those freckles.
Faux Freckles are fully customizable to each client - whether it’s a beauty mark or two or a sprinkle across the face, we’re almost certain you’ll come back wanting more of these cuties!

CONSULTATION
A consultation appointment is mandatory prior to booking a first application. If you have any permanent makeup done by another artist, an in-person consultation is also mandatory. If you prefer your faux freckles to be a certain shape, style or colour, please come example photos of what you're looking at the consultation appointment.

Please note that consultation appointments are $50 plus taxes. If you decide at the time of your consultation to book an initial application, the $50 plus taxes will go towards your initial service cost.
The consultation appointment does consist of discussing what faux freckles are, the application process, healing stages and any questions you might have. If you are from out of town, then a consultation for a new set can be scheduled over the phone. Unfortunately, phone consultations aren't available to clients with previously done work by another artist(s) at this time.

HOW ARE BODY TATTOOS DIFFERENT FROM PERMANENT MAKEUP FRECKLES?
The biggest difference between these two treatments is that regular tattoo uses permanent ink that also goes deeper into your skin, whereas freckles tattoos use a semi-permanent pigment, that fade starting at 6 months.

Also, freckle tattoo machines are smaller and lighter than the ones used for regular tattooing.
FAUX FRECKLE APPOINTMENT
The 1st application appointment includes a recap of our initial consultation, outline, application and aftercare.
The procedure is 45 minutes to 2 hours long depending on how many freckles you are wanting. Please do not schedule another appointment directly after the service so your Artist does not feel rushed.
Everything will be explained step-by-step to ensure you understand the procedure and aftercare at the consultation and at the application appointment.

Faux freckles are considered semi-permanent and can start to fade starting at 6 months. Clients with oily skin may experience dots that heal with a diffused, softer look.
Less is more when it comes to this technique. Adding more faux freckles to areas where previous done freckles have started to fade, creates a layered effect that looks realistic and naturally sun-kissed.

THIS TREATMENT IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE FOLLOWING CLIENTS:
Pregnant or Breastfeeding
Viral Infections (diseases)
Sick with Covid, cold or flu-like virus
Using Accutane in the past year
Epilepsy
Undergoing Chemotherapy
On blood thinners
Keratosis (growth of Keratin on the skin)
Broken capillaries
Prone to keloid scarring
Eczema or Psoriasis near or on the treatment area
Have skin irritations such as rashes, sunburn, cystic acne, etc
If you have had any type of facial surgery, consult with your physician about how long you should wait before having a semi-permanent makeup procedure on your skin.
Must be 18 years old or older

PRE CARE
AVOID THE FOLLOWING TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT:
Botox and fillers
Fruit or milk acid peels
Laser treatments
Chemical peel
Exposure to strong sunlight such as tanning
or burning the face

AVOID THE FOLLOWING 24 HOURS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT:
Alcohol
Drugs
Aspirin/Ibuprofen
(This contributes to thinning the blood and may affect the anaesthetics efficiency.)

PLANNING A HOT HOLIDAY OR VACATION?
Please be aware that your skin will need time to heal before jetting off on your holiday. Please plan your treatment appointment at least 2 weeks before your holiday.
Also to make sure that you wear SPF on your whole face during your vacation because the sun does cause them to fade faster. When you return, please wait at least 2 weeks for your skin to accustom to our climate again before having your faux freckle application done.

DAY OF APPOINTMENT:
Avoid a high quantity of caffeine
Avoid alcohol
Avoid exercise after treatment.
Wash your hair in the morning as you will need to avoid the shower after treatment for the first day of healing.
Baths are recommended.
You may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle
Avoid wearing white

Please arrive 10 minutes before your treatment time.
Late arrival can lead to your treatment being postponed to avoid upsetting other clients who may be waiting for their appointments after yours. Please allow 1 to 2 hour window for your appointment.
This is not something that can be rushed.
​
Please come with clean skin. If you have any acne in the area you are wanting faux freckles, that area will have to be avoid and a touch up reschedule (touch ups are NOT included in the initial price) for a later date. If you have an ideal freckle pattern, bring a few reference photos with you.

POST CARE
IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT: You may experience some redness immediately following the treatment. This is normal.
DAY 2: Your new freckles will appear bold. This is normal. Redness is also normal following the treatment.
Wash your face daily (am and pm) using a gentle mild soap and lukewarm water. No face cloth or anything abrasive. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. No picking or scratching!
Freckles usually take only 5 to 7 days to heal. It is very important to keep in mind that faux freckles go through a blooming process similar to lip blush tattooing. In some cases, the freckles can almost disappear completely before the colour returns. It is imperative that the scabs are not disrupted at all during the healing process. This means no picking or rubbing when washing.

PLEASE AVOID THE FOLLOWING FOR THE NEXT 5 TO 7 DAYS AFTER YOUR FRECKLE APPOINTMENT:

Scented soaps and lotions
Saunas
Hot yoga
Sleeping on your stomach or side
Facial Massage
SPF (until fully healed)
Coconut Oil
Petroleum or Vaseline
Heavy sweating at the gym (sweat formed the skin can fade your healing colour)
Tanning
Makeup on treatment area until fully healed
Picking a scabs if any appear
Swimming (pool chemicals can erode healing colour)
Outdoor activities such as gardening or golf can be resumed as long as treatment area remains clean, dry and out of the sun.
There will be a little scabbing.
Please do not itch or pick at the faux freckles or pull any scabs away.
